More Latinos Have Serious Concerns About Their Place in America Under Trump summarizes the key findings from a nationally representative telephone survey of 1,501 Hispanic adults conducted from July 26 to September 9, 2018. The authors compare the results of this survey with those from a similar survey conducted three years earlier. On just about all measures, attitudes have grown more negative. For example, half of Latinos say their situation has worsened over the past year, up from 32 percent three years ago. While assessments of personal finances among the general U.S. public have improved (50 percent now say “excellent” or “good”), the percentage among Latinos has dropped from 40 percent in 2015 to 33 percent in 2018.  Despite these attitudes, most Latinos (84 percent) say that they are proud to be Americans.
