Middle-Skills Credentials and Immigrant Workers: Utah's Untapped Assets
The Utah economy has robust demand for middle-skill workers. More than half of all jobs in Utah (55 percent) are middle-skill occupations that require more than a high school diploma, but not a four-year degree. Yet only 47% of Utah workers have been educated to the middle-skill level. This fact sheet from the National Skills Coalition summarizes data showing that immigrants are a part of Utah's Middle-Skill solution and could contribute more if Utah invested in their skills.
